Abstract
499,933. Dynamo - electric machine casings. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. May 6, 1938, No. 13621. Convention date, May 8, 1937. [Class 35] A casing has spaced apart projections for retaining an assembly of laminae which may be turned with respect to the casing to bring the projections into clamping engagement with the laminae. In the form shown, the shell 18 formed of a bent sheet metal strip has indentations 20, 21 arranged in groups and a transverse indentation 22. The assembled laminae, which are square with rounded corners, are introduced into the shell with their corners between the groups of projections 20, 21. The shell or the core is then moved circumferentially so that the corners of the core are retained between the projections 20, 21 and the rib 22 is sprung into an appropriately positioned slot 31 in the core periphery as indicated in Fig. 5. Axial bolts holding the two end covers against the shell may pass through the spaces 32 between the core and the casing.
