Abstract

A method is used for the production of a laminated stator. It avoids the need for an alignment groove of tapering section to be stamped so facilitating stamping and reducing tool wear. A packet of annular stampings with the necessary winding slots on the inner face has a groove of rectangular cross-section stamped along the outer perimeter, into which a clamp is inserted to align the packet the clamp sits fast against the sides of the groove and so deforms the stamping in its neighbourhood that the side walls extend over the clamp to form a firm fixture.
