Abstract
499,581. Adjusting bearings of band knife machines. FORTUNA - WERKE SPEZIAL - MASCHINENFABRIK AKT.- GES. Aug. 12, 1938, No. 23821. Convention date, Nov. 26, 1937. [Class 12 (i)] The guide roller 1 of a band knife splitting machine is supported so that it may be adjusted about an axis lying in the running plane of the band knife 2 and parallel to its cutting direction. As shown, the roller spindle 3 passes with clearance through blocks 7, 8, which can be clamped in adjusted position against guides 5, 6. The spindle 3 carries a block 12 with a cylindrical face 11 bearing against a corresponding face on the block 8. The axis A of the cylindrical faces 11 passes through the centre of the guide roller 1. The block 7 carries adjusting screws 18 engaging ribs 19 on the spindle 3 and the spindle is locked in adjusted position by tightening a nut 16. The adjoining faces of a washer 17 and the block 7 are cylindrical and concentric with the surfaces 11.
