[Class 83 (iii)] A tool for reconditioning shaft journals or the like comprises a bent up frame A carrying a tool slide E having a sliding fit adjusted by a nut K, and an adjustable post F, the spindle B sliding freely through the bearing M and having differential threads engaging the members E, F respectively. In operation the nut L is slacked off and the members B. E. F moved as a unit until the tool G contacts the work. The nut L is then clamped and a fine feed may then be imparted to the tool by rotation of the spindle B.
