[Class 145 (ii)] [Also in Groups XXII and XXXIV] A carriage 15 carrying a cutter 16 is mounted above the work on an arm 13 by means of two sets of rollers, one set 21 being mounted on horizontal axis and the other set 23 on inclined axis. The first set 21 engages laterally spaced horizontal bearing surfaces 17 on the underside of the arm, while the second or inclined set 23 boars downwardly on inclined surfaces 18. One set at least includes at least four rollers spaced apart lengthwise. One of the horizontal axis is slightly adjustable angularly, as shown in Fig. 5, by set-screws' 26. The inclined rollers 23 are mounted in pairs on end yokes 22 clamped to the ends of the carriage and adjustable angularly. The carriage may be locked in position as by a screw 35. In a modification, the horizontal and inclined runways may be formed on the lower flange of an inverted-T- shaped arm.
