Abstract

499,516. Door &c. stop or catch. YOUNG, G. D., and HOPKINS, J. Sept. 10, 1937, No. 24764. [Classes 44 and 65 (i)] A stop or catch for doors and gates comprises a bowed flat spring strip 4 fixed at one end 5 to stiff support 1 on the gate post &c. 7 and free to slide on the support at the end 6 when flattened by the edge 8 of the gate during closing movement. After the gate is closed, the bowed portion holds it in closed position. In another form, the strip is mounted on a flat plate formed at one end as a spike which is driven into the gate post.
