499,459. Indicating the strength of dressings applied to warps. SUCKER GES., GEB. Aug. 3, 1938, No. 22968. Convention date, Feb. 8. [Class 142 (iv)] To measure the degree of adhesion between dressed warp threads and thus to determine whether the applied dressing is too heavy or light, the threads a pass from the drying cylinder to a separator b carried by a rod c which is slidable against spring action in a guide e pivoted at d. A pointer f fixed to the rod moves over a scale g to indicate the extent of movement of the separator, which may comprise a roller, or two contacting rotating rollers. The threads may be further subdivided by separators h, h<1>, h2, h<3> before being wound on the beam.
