Abstract

Magnetic powder for the cores of high frequency inductance coils and having particles of spherical form is produced by blowing a powder through a pressure gas burner which melts the particles to spherical form, the form and size being retained on solidification. The powder so produced is mixed with at least 30 per cent by volume of binder in dissolved form, such as artificial resins that can be solidified, and pressed to form cores, an organic insulating film being unnecessary. The powder is of the type containing silicon, aluminium, or the like to increase the brittleness, hardness, and resistance. The size of the particles is preferably less than 0,01 mm.
