[Class 131] In a vacuum-operated hair-clipper wherein a comb knife 4 is reciprocated relatively to a fixed comb knife 3 by a pivoted member 11 engaged by flanges 8 on a rod 6 connecting two pistons 5, the latter are guided in the cylinder 7 by a spindle 26 passing through the rod 6 and sesured by nuts 27 to the cylinder heads. A pipe in the hollow handle 2 connects a vacuum pump to the control valve disc 16 which is periodically oscillated by a link 19 pivoted at 20 to the link 11 and engaged by the flanges 8.
