Abstract
496,696. Hypodermic syringes. DALIGAULT, R. T. Aug. 7, 1937, No. 21825. Convention date, Sept. 21, 1936. [Class 81 (ii)] A hypodermic syringe comprises a hollow cylindrical casing 1 of uniform bore, having a member 4 with a removable needle grip 11 threaded to it, which extends within the casing and is held in position by the sleeve 7 threaded externally to the casing at 3. The needle seating of member 4 is concave and has an annular ridge which prevents the flange of the needle from adhering. The surface 5 where the member 4 and the casing make contact is conical or spherical to ensure fluidtightness. A packing joint which comprises either an elastic member 19 and a metal ring 20 or a metallo-elastic packing is locked by the cap 21 having two lugs 22 and 23 and renders the joint fluid-tight and provides an abutment against which the shoulder of the piston engages. The upper end of the pistonrod is conical and has a hole into which a suitable rod may be inserted whilst screwing or unscrewing the grip 15.
