Abstract
496,442. Kinematograph apparatus. BAUER GES., E. March 1, 1938, No. 6346. Convention date, March 1, 1937. Addition to 441,160. [Class 97 (i)] In means for rotating a sprocket relatively to its shaft by mechanism driven from the shaft, as described in the parent Specification, an intermediate gearing between the shaft and the adjusting mechanism is operable, at will, in reverse directions. As shown, the body 4 of a sprocket carries a rim 2 and a toothed wheel 3, and is rotatable relatively to its shaft 5. A toothed wheel 7 on a sleeve 6 secured to the shaft 5 by a pin 13 is engaged, together with the wheel 3, by a planet pinion 8. The wheels 3, 7 have different numbers of teeth, and rotation of the pinion 8 about the shaft 5 moves the sprocket relatively to the shaft. The pinion 8 is carried by a spindle 9 secured to the rear of a crown wheel 10 forming part of the intermediate gearing and rotatable relatively to the sleeve 6 and shaft 5. The crown wheel 10 and a second crown wheel 11 rotatable relatively to the shaft 5 are engaged by a pinion 12 carried by the pin 13. A milled sleeve 15 is secured to the wheel 10, and a milled projection 16 is formed on the wheel 11 ; a ring 18 secured by a screw 17 holds the wheel 11 in place. If the projection 16 be held, the pinion 12, rolling on the wheel 11, rotates the wheel 10 relatively to the shaft 5, and causes the planet pinion 8 to roll on the wheels 3, 7, with consequent movement of the sprocket relative to the shaft 5. If the sleeve 15 be held, the pinion 8 rolls in the opposite direction on the wheels 3, 7, and the sprocket moves in the opposite direction relatively to the shaft 5. The wheels 10, 11 may have equal or different numbers of teeth.
