Alkene trithiocarbonates, e.g. ethene trithiocarbonate, are used as collecting agents in the flotation concentration of ores, coal, &c. The flotation of a mixed sulphide-oxide copper ore using ethene trithiocarbonate as collector and pine oil as frother is described.
