Abstract

495,915. Spray-producers. DRYSDALE & CO., Ltd., and DRYSDALE, J. W. W. Nov. 20, 1937, No. 31993. [Class 69 (iii)] A water-discharge device particularly for ornamental fountains producing awhite aerated stream of water comprises a discharge tube 3 mounted on a ball member 1 universally adjustable in a socket the tube 3 being surrounded by a tube 4 acting as an air conduit to induce air to pass through apertures 6 into the water stream. The ball member 1 comprises co-operating parts 1, 1a fitting into one another and provided with bottom walls 16, 17 provided with apertures 18, 19 respectively so that the volume of the pressure stream may be regulated by relative turning of the socket parts 1, 1a. The socket comprises a main member 9 and a second member 10 forming part of the tube 4 which is adapted to be secured to the main member 9 by studs 12 which may be loosened to permit angular adjustment of the tube 3 within the confines of the tube 4 and then tightened to clamp said tube 3. A plate 7 with apertures 8 is placed, as shown. The tube 3 is furnished with a nozzle 21 having flats 22 for the use of a tool to turn the tube 3 and consequently socket member 1a relatively to socket member 1 for adjustment of the apertures 18, 19.
