495,597. Ball - and - float valves. FLOAT, Ltd., J. L., and CULLIMORE, L. Nov. 8, 1937, No. 30532. [Class 135] The float connection of a float-operated cistern supply valve having a flat-topped float b comprises an L-shaped bracket with a horizontal flattened arm a<1> bolted or otherwise secured to the flat top of an inverted dome-shaped or hemispherical float b and a vertical guide bar a<2> of rectangular section on which a slide block d carried by the valve lever arm e is adjustably clamped. The movement of the block d is limited by a flange a<3> and by shouldered stops a'. The block d has a threaded socket d<2> which passes through to the aperture d<1> so that the threaded end e<2> of the valve lever arm e can bind against the guide bar and lock the parts in adjusted position. In a modification, the socket d<2> does not pass through to the aperture d<1> and the guide bar is gripped by an auxiliary thumb screw passing through one of two opposite threaded sockets in the slide block.
