493,811. Ratchet gearing. ROES, G. Jan. 10, 1938, No. 773. Convention date, Jan. 9, 1937. [Class 80 (iii)] An improved ratchet device for continuously variable change-speed gears of the kind described for example in Specifications 465,110 and 485,900 comprises two blocks 26 and 37 adapted to operate in a groove 27 of a driven member and having complementary inclines R, R<1> so that they are pushed apart by a spring 38, the block 26 having a trunnion 25 to engage in radial grooves in a driving member and the block 37 having teeth for driving onto teeth 36 along the groove 27.
