493,635. Structural girders. LEWIS CONSTRUCTION CO., Ltd., and HEYMAN, M. April 29, 1937, No. 12219. [Class 20 (ii)] A light girder construction comprises channelsection flange members 10 of a thickness less than a quarter of an inch connected by struts and ties 12 also of thin channel-section metal with flattened ends for attachment to the flanges, and T-iron or twin angle-iron stiffeners 22 secured to the centre portions of the flanges. The flange and strut members may be provided with parallel or inclined-sided corrugations 14, as shown in Fig. 4.
