Abstract

493,459. Hydraulic power transmitters. SALERNI, P. M. April 8, 1937, No. 10054. [Class 69 (ii)] The impeller of a hydraulic power transmitter of the kinetic type has ducts whose outlets are situated in the outer part of the circuit, at least a substantial part of said ducts being non-divergent. The vanes increase in thickness from inlet to a point 14, Fig. 7, the walls 9, 10, Fig. 1, approaching each other to give a reduced crosssection ; from the point 14 to the outlet the vanes are reduced in thickness, but are turned backwardly whereby non-divergency is maintained. Members 19 of bulbous form are provided at the inlet of the impeller, and may, as shown in Fig. 15, be formed integral with the impeller vanes.
