493,266. Materials for making coke. LURGI GES. FUR WARMETECHNIK. March 14, 1938, No. 7907. Convention date, March 20, 1937. [Class 55 (ii)] Lump coke is obtained by coking a briquetted mass of dry powdered lignite or bituminous mineral coal comprising at least one half of particles of a grain size not exceeding 0À2 millimetres and the remainder of particles of a grain size up to 2 millimetres. Exceptionally, three-quarters of the mass may comprise particles of a grain size not exceeding 0À2 millimetres and the remainder up to 1 millimetre. The mass is briquetted in a ring roller press under a pressure of at least 1500 kilograms per square centimetre and at a temperature of at least 40‹ C.
