493,011. Shaft, tunnel, and like linings. ANDERSON, D., and LONDON PASSENGER TRANSPORT BOARD. Aug. 26, 1937, No. 23432. [Class 85] [Also in Group X] A tunnel, shaft or like lining is constructed of rings formed of trough-like slabs 1 of precast reinforced concrete with the mouths of the troughs on the concave sides and divided into cells 3 by transverse webs 2 with or without a central longitudinal web. A key 4, hollow or solid, completes each ring. The slabs of a ring or adjacent rings are connected by bolts passing through holes 5, 7, in the walls of the trough, the holes having a metal liner 9 with a peripheral flange for anchoring. Lead, felt, &c. may be placed between the slabs in place of grouting.
