Abstract

491,553. Destroying bracken &c. WILLIAMS, G. W. June 21, 1937, Nos. 17182 and 20678. [Classes 6 (i) and 6 (iii)] A heavy cylindrical or prismoidal roller 1 has an axle 2 at each end rotating in bearings 4 and carrying brackets to which blades 6, extending along the roller, are attached by bolts 7. The blades 6 engage in one or more slots in raised parts of the roller periphery such as a circumferential band 13. The bearings 4 are carried by brackets 8 connected together by transverse members 9. A sheet metal guard 12 is arranged on the roller. The axles 2 may be replaced by an axle secured to the brackets 8 and passing freely through the roller and the brackets 3. A number of machines may be coupled together to treat a wide path of ground. Specification 220,125, [Class 6 (iii)], is referred to.
