[Class 135] [Also in Group XXXIV] A feed valve device in a fluid braking system of the kind controlled by an auxiliary valve has means for releasing the pressure in the actuating chamber of the main valve whereby the main valve is moved to its fully open position irrespective of the position of the auxiliary valve. In the form shown in the Figure, the main slide valve 3 is actuated by a spring loaded piston normally under the control of a lift valve 10 actuated by a spring loaded diaphragm 8. This diaphragm is subject to the pressure at the throat of a Venturi arranged in the outlet 7 from the main valve. Inlet pressure is admitted to the actuating chamber 2 through a restriction 18 and is exhausted, when it is required to open the main valve, either through the valve 10 or through a cock 16 on a pipe connection 15 leading to atmosphere. In a modification the outlet from the cock 16 leads either to the outlet conduit or to the passage 13 connecting the Venturi with the diaphragm chamber.
