488,839. Expansion joints for pipes. HASSENKAMM, K. M. Jan. 20, 1938, No. 1891. Convention date, Feb. 19, 1937. [Class 99 (i)] In an expansion pipe joint comprising two pipe parts 1, 2 interconnected by a bellows-like member formed of a plurality of units 3, each unit consisting of a pair of conical plate rings which are connected together at their outer peripheries and to the rings of adjacent units at their inner peripheries, compression of the units is limited by stops located thereon. The stops preferably take the form of integral flanges 4, Fig. 1, along the inner periphery of one of each pair of rings constituting a unit, or by pressed-out projections 5, Fig. 2, on the said rings.
