Abstract
487,336. - Attemperating beer &c. HUGHES, jun., A. N. Dec. 18, 1936, No. 34794. [Class 29] Apparatus for attemperating beer &c. comprises a container 1 immersed in a tank containing water adapted to be cooled or if desired, heated, and through which the beer may be byepassed through pipes 14, 15 from a pipe 12 connecting a barrel &c. in a cellar to a counter tap 9, the beer being forced from the barrel by compressed air. The cooling of the water is effected by compressed air passed through a pipe 24 on a main 23 into a tank 20 packed with ice, the air being supplied to the water in the tank through pipes 28, 27 and depending tubes 29, 30. Heating may be effected by steam supplied to the pipe 27 by a gas-heated boiler 21. The water in the tank may, however, be heated by an electric immersion heater controlled by a thermostat in the water. The temperature of the water is recorded by a thermometer 37 which may be seen through a window 38. The beer mav be blown out of the container by air admitted to the pipe 14 by a valve 25.
