Abstract
A diazotized 2-aminobenzene-1-carboxylic acid, not containing a sulphonic or an additional carboxylic acid group, is coupled with an oxynaphthalenesulphonic acid arylide which couples in o-position to the hydroxy group and contains no amino or further sulphonic acid substituent in the naphthalene nucleus, but is substituted in the arylide residue with a carboxylic group. The products dye wool by the chrome and the metachrome process. An example is given in which diazotized o-aminobenzoic acid is coupled with 2-naphthol-6-suphonanilide-21-carboxylic acid to yield a red dye. Specification 3796/14, [Class 2 (iii)], is referred to.
