Abstract

484,926. Hinges. STRAW, R. A., and NOBLE, C. G. Nov. 16, 1936, No. 31298. [Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group X] The adjacent panels of sliding shutters or doors are connected together by hinges comprising tubular members secured to the panels by bolts which pass through circmnferential slots formed in the tubular members to permit relative rotary movement of the panels. In the construction shown in Fig. 3, one edge of each panel is formed with a tubular portion 15 which engages with an arcuate portion 16 of the adjacent panel, and is secured thereto by bolts 17, relative rotary movement being permitted by slots 23 formed in one of the engaging members and through which the bolts pass. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, a tube 36 is disposed between adjacent panels, and is secured thereto by bolts 17, 17<1> the bolts connecting one of the panels passing through slots 23 in the tube 36.
