Abstract
484,269. Safety razors. DURHAM DUPLEX RAZOR CO. Aug. 28, 1937, No. 23632. Convention date, Oct. 10, 1936. [Class 30] In razors of the type in which the blade is inserted without disturbing the parts of the holder, the latter is made with end walls 14 having surfaces 22, 23, which act on the blade during insertion to urge it against the edge of the guard 15. The surfaces 22 act on lateral tongues 19, Fig. 2, on the blade which may be of the form described in Specification 483,536. The surfaces 23 act on the under side of of the blade, Fig. 3. When the blade is fully inserted the back edge is in contact with projections 27 on the back of the guard plate 15, owing to the action of curved projections 20 formed on the walls 14. The ends are pressed slightly downward while the centre is flexed upwardly.
