484,087. Cotton - gins. SICRAMAZ, I. Oct. 27, 1936, No. 29200. Convention date, July 7. [Class 120 (i)] In a gin having a number, e.g. four, revolving knives 5 which are mounted to revolve about a common axis above a grid 6, Fig. 6, means are provided for automatically opening and closing the grid at predetermined intervals in order to empty its contents. The grid 6 is opened against a spring 26 by levers 23, 25 operated by a cam 17 which is actuated by a pinion 13, Fig. 3, the feed apron 2 being stopped by the operation of another cam 18 before the grid 6 is opened so as to ensure that it is clear of cotton. 34
