Abstract
Glutathione is isolated from aqueous solutions containing it by treating them with an oxide, hydroxide or carbonate of an alkaline earth metal, isolating the resulting alkaline earth salts and decomposing them, e.g. with sulphuric or oxalic acid, to liberate the crystallizable glutathione. An example is given. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes the intermediate formation of the magnesium salt. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
