Abstract
481,431. Jigging-conveyers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and SHERWEN, J. W. July 7, 1936, No. 18831. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Groups II, V, and XXXV] A sieve, concentrator, conveyer, moulding, or pulverizing machine is vibrated by an electromagnet the armature of which is resiliently connected thereto and the electromagnet is suspended from the body to be vibrated or if secured directed thereto is connected to the armature by coil springs while the armature is connected to the body by leaf springs. In the form shown the armature 15 is carried by a resilient plate 11 secured at one end to a casting 1 which carries the U-shaped wound core of the electromagnet and adjustable springs 16 extend on either side of the electromagnet between plate 11 and a similar plate 12 on the other side of the casting. The casting has eye bolts to receive supporting links and one or both of plates 11, 12, with extensions where necessary are secured to the body to be vibrated. In the form shown in Fig. 7, the electromagnet core is carried by a casting 30 provided with shoulders 31 against which the springs 32 abut and having a base 37 secured to the table. The armature 34 is clamped between brackets 35 carried by resilient plates 36 secured to the base 37. Specifications 421,657 and 441,733, [both in Group XXXV], are referred to.
