Abstract
481,320. Discharge lamps. AKTIEBOLAGET ELEKTROD. Jan. 6, 1937, No. 412. Convention date, Jan. 9, 1936. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XI] The sealed envelope of a discharge lamp or other electric source of light is closely packed in a heat insulating transparent or translucent material such as glass wool. The Figure shows a discharge lamp 1 enclosed in an outer envelope 8a, the space between the lamp and the envelope being filled with glass wool) 8. The glass wool may be coloured or coated with luminescent material. The space between the two envelopes may be dried by phosphorus pentoxide or the like, or steam may be introduced to stop infra-red radiation. The lamp shown is supported from the lead 3 by strips 4, 5 which also serve as starting electrodes.
