500,142. Sealing lead-in conductors ; discharge apparatus. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPEN. FABRIEKEN. Jan. 22, 1938, No. 2184. Convention date, Jan. 26, 1937. (Class 36] [Also in Group XL] In the manufacture of electric discharge tubes of small dimensions and having four or more lead-in conductors, a disc or plate-shaped foot 3 of glass or other vitreous material is moulded with the lead-in conductors 5 and is sealed to the bulb 1, which is also of moulded glass, by the abutting flanges 2, 4. The exhaust tube 6 is preferably located opposite the foot. The conductors 5, which may consist of ferro-chromium, are made sufficiently rigid to allow a cap to be dispensed with, and are preferably covered with a layer of glass prior to their being moulded in the foot.
