Abstract
480,669. Magnetic separators. FRANTZ, S. G. May 20, 1936, No. 2921 /38. Convention date, May 20, 1935. Divided out of 480,586. [Class 72] In a magnetic separator of the kind described in Specification 480,586 the screens 6b of the same shape as described in that Specification are rotatably mounted on a post 19 and alternate screens are rotated by the engagement with flanges 21 with toothed wheels 24 mounted on shafts 22. The other screens are rotated in similar fashion by wheels on shaft 23 geared to shafts 22 to rotate in the opposite direction to the wheels 24. The coils 1<1> are placed as shown and hoppers 12b. 12c are arranged as shown in Fig. 4, the purified material leaving by a funnel 20, and the magnetic material falling into a funnel 26. In another form, the screen is arranged in the form of an endless band 6c, Fig. 7, which passes under and through the space between coils 1<1>, the magnetic material. separated from the other material being dropped into funnels 26, the other material dropping into the funnel 20.
