Abstract

480,391. Electric signalling systems. RUSSELL, V. J. S. Nov. 28, 1936, No. 32676. [Class 40 (i)] In a liquid level, temperature or pressure indicator, the effect of variation in battery voltage on the indication of the instrument h is reduced by including a pair of separable, but normally closed contacts a, b, in the circuit, a winding e connected in parallel with the battery being provided to separate the contacts when the battery voltage exceeds a predetermined value. Upon the battery voltage rising, the current in winding e increases, causing the bi-metallic strip f to warp and interrupt the circuit. In a modification, contact a is mounted on a similar strip to f rendering changes in the ambient temperature ineffective. The interrupter may comprise an electromagnet actuating a spring- controlled armature with a time-lag device.
