Abstract
1,045,875. Electrically released switches; fusible cut-outs. ELECTRO MECHANICAL MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. May 22, 1963 [June 1, 1962], No. 21192/62. Headings H2B and H2G. [Also in Division G1] A handle 1 carrying a link or fuse 6 between contacts 2, 3, has a member 19 which is normally held in a non-indicating position, as shown, by a bimetallic strip 11 connected to contact 2, the arrangement being such that electrical overload in the circuit which is insufficient to blow the link or fuse 6 but is above a predetermined value is indicated by strip 11 flexing and releasing member 19 which thereupon falls, or is spring- pressed, to an indicating position. The operative end of member 19 may be coloured or otherwise readily visible or may close an electrical circuit to give a visible indication. The member 19 may be held by two strips 11, 12, so that changes in ambient temperature cause it to be displaced laterally and not released or the strip 11 may be so constructed as to provide ambient temperature compensation.
