Abstract
480,387. Foundry ladles. BOLTON & SONS, Ltd., T., and WALKER, S. Nov. 25, 1936, No. 32221. [Class 82 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] In pouring metal into moulds 14, 15, 16 these are arranged along the arc of a circle and the metal in the tilting furnace or container 1 is discharged into an intermediate vessel 3 adapted to rotate about a vertical axis 4 and provided with an eccentric closable orifice 8. The vessel 3 may have a refractory lining and its orifice one of graphite or carbon and this may be closed by a rod of the same material. The lining of the orifice 8 may be exchanged for one having an aperture of a different size when required. A baffle 12 to restrain floating impurities may also be provided.
