[Class 6 (i)] An auxiliary distributer for receiving grain or fertilizer, or both, from a main distributer and discharging it at a uniform rate comprises a roller and a coacting member forming between them a V-shaped channel into which the material is fed and from one end of which it is discharged, the spreading of the material in the channel being achieved by having the wall of the channel formed by the roller continuously moving upward and the wall formed by the coacting member either stationary or also continuously moving upward, and the movement of the material along the channel being achieved by having the channel inclined or the roller spirally grooved, or both. The feed wheel 5 of the main distributer delivers the grain &c. into cups 7 from which it falls into the V-shaped channel formed between two rollers 9, 10 driven by bevel and spur gearing. The rollers are inclined so as to deliver the grain into a bottomless cup 21 at the top of a tube leading downwards to a share or disc. Inclined guide plates 31, 32 may be located in the cups 7. The rollers 9, 10 may be made of hard wood, composition, or metal, or of rubber or other resilient material, and their surfaces may be partly or wholly grooved spirally. They may be spaced apart or in contact, and their bearings may be removably fixed or may be movable under spring action. A casing may be provided around the rollers, and brushes to keep them clean. In a modification one of the rollers is replaced by a spring-loaded or other inclined plate having a curved surface or shoulder adjacent the other roller. The appliances may project forwardly and rearwardly alternately, or all forward, or all backward, or sideways.
