[Classes 20 (iv) and 107] The method for the production of a mortarbound road covering, claimed in the parent Specification, is modified by using for the temporary layer, through the intermediary of which the covering is compressed, layers of a continuous material, such as webs of paper, cardboard, fabric, sponge-rubber, or the like. The compression may be effected with one or more further layers, such as sand, applied to the continuous layers. The covering, which may be of concrete, may be formed in several layers, each of which is adapted to be compressed with the use of the continuous layers. The mortar for the road covering may be formed of trass-cement, trass-lime-cement, or ordinary cement with the addition of bitumen. The joints in the road covering may be filled with an elastic material, such as a mixture of tar and sand, and these joints may be compressed during the compression of the covering. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also the use of the following materials for the temporary layer, viz. : foundry sand, pumice-stone, sawdust, chopped straw, jute or paper fibres, bitumen, bitumen emulsions, tar, resins. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
