Abstract

802,623. Road construction. BAHR, M. June 20, 1957, No. 19489/57. Drawings to Specification. Class 107 A road having a bituminous surface over a concrete or other foundation is reinforced against cracks by the incorporation of synthetic filamentary materials in the bituminout mix, either by mixing them in the surfacing material or by laying them on a first layer of the mix and then superposing a second layer of the mix. The fibres can be loose or worked up into e.g. fabric, net or fleece. Various polymers are specified as examples of the fibres.
