Abstract

479,235. Regulating fluid flow; nozzles. SMIT, J. S. DE. Jan. 4, 1937, No. 249. [Classes 69 (iii) and 135] A nozzle for attachment to the outlet of a water cock contains a screw-threaded plug 2 with a number of channels 7 running transversely to the thread, which channels guide the passing liquid in a rotary manner to a single central outlet 6. The nozzle body, Fig. 1, comprises two parts 1, 3 each screwed on to the plug 2 a washer 4 being interposed. Fig. 3 shows a form with the nozzle body 8 in one piece threaded internally at 12 to receive the grooved plug 2 which has screwdriver slot 11. The exposed part of the thread 12 enables the nozzle to be secured on the cock housing. The nozzle may also be integral with the tap or soldered thereto.
