[Class 135] A device for preventing swirling in the flow of a fluid before it enters a meter consists of two apertured plates 7, 8 spaced apart, one plate 7 having holes which are long compared with their diameter, and the other plate 8 having holes which are preferably short compared with their diameter. The holes in the plate 8 are staggered in relation to those in the plate 7.
