478,923. Surgical syringes. MOOS, G. March 22, 1937, No. 8365. Convention date, March 22, 1936. [Class 81 (ii)] A vaginal irrigator comprises a cup a, the edge m of which is shaped to engage the body closely, a nozzle c containing a non- return inlet valve i and communicating with a conduit e in the rear wall of the cup, a valvecontrolled drainage port d at the base of the cup and opening into conduit e, and bulb f or like liquid-forcing means connected to the conduit, the arrangement being such that liquid injected into the body through nozzle c drains into the cup and is withdrawn through valve d by the bulb f and reinjected thereby. The bulb f is positioned above the cup, to facilitate the use of the appliance while reclining, and the conduit e extends some distance into the bulb to permit storage of injection liquid therein. The valve controlling port d comprises a spring plate overlying a rubber flap. The edge m is cut away on its upper side to obviate pressure on the body and prevent trapping of air in the cup. A hinged strut l supports the appliance on a table when out of use. Electric heating means may be provided in bulb f, for example around conduit e, or in cup a.
