Abstract
478,765. Spray producers. PULIDORI, P. Dec. 7, 1936, Nos. 33566 and 33567. Convention dates, Dec. 7, 1935 and May 28, 1936. [Class 69 (iii)] [Also in Group XI] An atomizer applicable as a liquid-fuel burner comprises a single preferably archimedian spiral passage e, Figs. 1 and 3, formed in a plate d leading to a central orifice n by which a cone of spray is produced. Before entering the spiral passage the liquid may be mixed by passing through a passage formed by a multi-thread helix k mounted in the supply passage. The plate d in which the helical passage is formed may be formed with a central chamber 8 in which may be mounted a pin 6, Fig. 11, forming with the chamber 8 an annular whirl chamber. The pin may be fixed as shown or mounted on a longitudinally-movable rod to close the exit orifice 9. The rod on which the pin 6 is mounted may be provided with grooves which replace the helical passages k for mixing the liquid.
