[Class 126] In a domestic cooking-range with an oven a beside a solid-fuel grate, the portion of the range above the oven is formed in part by a hollow casting of inverted channel shape the casting being open at its bottom and resting on the oven top so as to form with the latter a hot gas passage g, and further being flanked on one or more sides by a mass of thermal insulating material n, and the upper part h of the casting, which serves as the hotplate, being narrower than the range top which is completed by a separate plate or plates o situated in the same plane as the hot-plate. The top of the casting is narrower than the lower part, and may have ribs s on its lower surface.
