Abstract

477,805. Photographic copying and developing apparatus. JANZER, C. March 23, 1937, No. 8555. Convention date, April 1, 1936. [Class 98 (i)] An adjustable driving gear for giving a step-by-step movement to a sensitized strip through a copying apparatus and a continuous movement to a take-up mechanism comprises a single ratchet mechanism 7, 8, Fig. 1, operating a feed roller 3, Fig. 5, which draws the strip past an exposure apparatus 2, and a double ratchet mechanism for operating a take-up roller 20 for winding up the strip after it has passed a developing or treatment bath. The rod 10, Fig. 1, provided at one end with a single rack 9 and at the other with two racks 12, 13 in different planes is reciprocated by a connecting rod 23 attached to an adjustable throw crank 25. On each reciprocation of the rod 10 the roller 3 is rotated by a ratchet and pawl 7, 8. The racks 12, 13 engage pinions each of which carries a pawl engaging a ratchet wheel 19 to give a practically continuous rotation to the roller 20. The exposure is effected by a lever 35 operated by a cam 28.
