[Class 98 (i)] [Also in Group XXIV] The take-up spool is driven from a rotatable shaft by means of a crank, a connecting rod, and a reciprocating lever driven thereby and serving to displace the film in one direction only. To compensate for the increasing diameter of the roll, the point at which the connecting rod acts on the reciprocating lever is displaced by a feeler bearing on the roll. In the form shown, the film d passes from the supply spool c over the presser-plate g<1> to the take-up spool h. The presser-plate is operated by a cam i<2> which also acts as a crank moving the lever l, the free end y of which bears on a lever n pivoted at m. The lever n drives a gear o by means of a pawl r <1>, reverse movement being prevented by the pawl r<2>. The gear o meshes with a gear p on the take-up spool. A pivoted bell-crank lever s having at one end a roller v in contact with the film on the spool h, is connected at the opposite end by a rod x to the free end of the lever l so that the point of engagement of the levers l, n is varied in accordance with the diameter of the roll.
