Abstract

477,784. Winding yarns. HOLT, R. July 18, 1936, No. 19961. [Class 120 (ii)] A device of the kind described in Specification 317,90'4, [Class 120 (ii)], for applying drag or tension to yarns or threads or for cleaning thread during winding or unwinding comprises an annular disc 12 or equivalent body for bearing upon and being revolved by the yarn passing between it and a supporting table or surface formed on a foundation part 10 and a resilient pad 22 of soft sponge rubber disposed on the upper-surface of the disc and forming a seating adapted to receive one or more weights 24 for regulating the tension of the yarn or thread. As shown the disc 12 is substantially cup-shaped, with a plane part bearing on the yarn and has a central sleeve 13 projecting within a hole 16 in the foundation 10 and within which a peg 20, projecting from a part 18 of the foundation 10, is disposed, the pad 22 and weights 24 loosely encircling the peg 20. The peg 20 and sleeve 13 may project within an annular removable collar 26 seated on a resilient pad 30 of soft sponge rubber in a recess 29 around the hole 16 in the foundation 10 and forming the seat for the annular disc 12.
