[Class 51 (i)] [Also in Group XI] A device for supplying preheated air to solid-fuel furnaces and stoves comprises a metal tube or box 1 closed at each end and fitted with baffles 3, 3<1>, 3<11>, 3<111> ... projecting inwardly from and spaced along the length of the top of the tube, there being provided an inlet pipe 4, delivering air to that part of the tube in which the baffles are located, and a number of outlet nozzles 2, 21, 2<11>, 2<111> .. distributed along the bottom of the tube so as to deliver preheated air downwardly on to the fuel bed. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a construction in which an air-heating tube is attached to the front plate of a kitchen range above the grate, and a further construction comprising air-heating boxes disposed along each side of a furnace grate and having upwardly projecting outlet pipes which are bent inwardly at their upper ends to direct the heated air horizontally over the fuel bed. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
