A3, Fig. 1, of blanket, quilting, fleece or similar material, the overlapping edges of which at the open side and foot portions are provided with borders F1 .. F3 of thin material adapted to be rolled together about pipings Ll .. L3 of feathers or the like to render the bag proof against draughts &c. The Figure shows the layers at the opening side edge of a bag comprising three blanket &c. layers, Fig. 2 showing the doubled back edge of a single layer bag. In addition to the borders the upper edges of the layers are furnished with flounce strips N1 ... N3 of similar thin material, border G and flounces N4 being provided also on the optional covering layer B, but not on the sheet or inner layer H, which is also optional. The layers are detachably connected together by link and buttonhole fastenings D, J, Fig. 1, and P, Q, Fig. 2, of the kind described in Specification 444,204, [Group VII], mounted on lengths of tape or web C, O, and engaging apertures formed in the borders and in webs E disposed outside the cover. The bag is held closed by slidable fastening devices engaging the free edges R of the webs C and by tapes M tied or otherwise secured over the rolled borders.
