[Class 142 (ii)] The tuft yarns b are inserted by a single tube frame a and are supplied direct thereto from bobbins on one or more stationary creel frames. The yarns pass over a main wire-carded or like, braked guide roller c having a top pressure roller d, thence through a spacing comb e over a guide roller f, and over the front of a fixed rubber-faced flat bar g through the spacing and threading apertures a<1> to the tube frame. Suspended levers h are rocked to the left against the action of springs by adjustable hooked connecting rods operated from the crankshaft h. A clamping-bar o on spring-controlled rods n on the levers h first grips the yarns against the bar g, after which, as the levers h move further to the left, a roller m carried thereby forces the clamped yarns rearwardly (to the left) whereby the desired length thereof is drawn from the creel. The slack is taken up on the next insertion of the tube frame. Adjustable stops r limit the forward motion of the levers h. The bar o is vertically grooved at spacings corresponding to the pitch of the teeth of the comb e and apertures a<1>.
