Abstract
475,159. Packing - cases. THOMPSON & NORRIS MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and PRIDEAUX, G. E. May 11, 1936, No. 13294. [Class 18] The packing-case disclosed in Specification 460,803 is modified in that the body portion has the closing flaps 7 at one side (as distinct from one end) which, after the rigid frame insertions 8, 9 are placed within the case and the contents introduced, are folded into the closed position. Hand-slots 11 are formed in the end walls, the distance between the same and the facing material 9 of the frames allowing space for the fingers in carrying. In. a further modification, the closing flaps 12 are formed at the end of the case and the same are slotted, at 13, 14, Fig. 3, to form finger grips for carrying. Distance pieces 6a may be located in the case to strengthen the side walls and to hold the frames 8, 9 in position. Rigid frame members such as 8, 9 may be placed, also, at any position between the ends of the case.
